About

The hard part isn't the drone. It's the doorway.

LeaseUpTours is a new brand. The company behind it is not.

Why this exists

Two things overlapped. Charlotte is delivering more new apartments than it can lease — around 18,000 units under construction, new properties averaging 72% leased more than a year after opening, and more than half the market discounting to fill them. And we have spent years building and flying FPV drones, which is a fairly specific skill that turns out to be exactly what those buildings need and mostly cannot buy locally.

Most lease-up marketing still leads with still photography. A prospect scrolling at 10pm cannot tell from a photo set how the amenity deck connects to the lounge, or how big the unit actually feels. A continuous flight through the space answers that in forty seconds.

How we work

Hands-on, not outsourced. The person who shows up to your property is the person doing the flying and the editing. Nothing is subcontracted, and you are not handed to a junior operator after the sales call.

Indoor, on purpose. We fly interiors — amenities, model units, common areas. That is a narrower offer than a full production company, and it is deliberate. It is what a drone does that a camera on a gimbal cannot.

Built for indoors. We fly a DJI Avata 360. Its propellers sit inside an integrated guard and it carries omnidirectional obstacle sensing, so it can work close to people, furniture, and light fixtures — which is what flying a furnished model unit actually asks of an aircraft.

One flight, several shots. The camera records the entire sphere at once, so the framing gets chosen afterwards rather than in the moment. A single pass through your amenity deck becomes a wide hero cut for the website, a vertical crop for social, and an ILS-sized file — three genuinely different shots out of one flight, not one shot exported three ways. The sphere itself ships too, as an interactive 360 your visitors can look around inside while the flight plays.

Insured for every shoot. Liability coverage is in place for each shoot and a certificate naming your property can go to your risk team before we arrive.

One company behind it. LeaseUpTours is the property-media brand of BYITL, LLC. Your contract, your invoice, and your card statement all say BYITL, LLC — there is no separate entity and no surprise on the statement.

New brand, honest about it. There is no client logo wall on this site because there are no clients to name yet. The founding-client rate exists for exactly that reason: the first ten Charlotte properties get the work at a price that reflects being first.

Lester Privott, founder of BYITL, LLC and LeaseUpTours

The founder

Lester Privott is the founder of BYITL, LLC. He is a software and data engineer by trade — years spent building data platforms and AI systems for healthcare and consumer tech — and a hardware builder by habit: ESP32 boards, servo-driven mechanisms, parametric CAD, and a 3D printer that runs more than it sits idle.

The drones came out of the same habit — years of building and flying FPV aircraft, which is why the machine is not the interesting part. Flying one through a furnished model unit at speed, cleanly, without touching anything, is the part that takes practice.

If you email LeaseUpTours, Lester is the person who reads it — and the person who turns up with the drone.
